MBIG Services
In filling out and forwarding this form, you are hereby contracting Mobile Business Information Group, LLC, (MBIG) to act as your consultant to assist in the rights related to monophonic and/or polyphonic ringtones, or realtones, mastertones, or other such mobile music services as are hereby requested by you.
MBIG offers three service alternatives:
- Song Research Services – MBIG offers this Song Research Service to provide record company and/or publisher credits and contact information on any song title(s) at a flat rate of $25 per song inquiry, with a $10 refund on any title for which we can not supply full publisher and/or record company credits and contact information.
- Original Master Realtones (aka Truetones. Mastertones) – These are actual recordings of songs by the original artists, usually provided in MP3 form. For this purpose, when you list the song title(s) you wish to license on the form below, we will identify and contact the record company master owner(s) on your behalf and attempt to obtain license(s) from said owner(s) for your signature. PLEASE NOTE: At present, some record companies are attempting to market directly to the public and are not anxious to license through third parties UNLESS YOU HAVE A SUBSTANTIAL AND WELL FINANCED PROPOSED USEAGE. We charge a flat consultation fee of $75.00 per title you request. (If a license cannot be obtained, for any reason, we will refund our consultation fee, minus a $50 administration fee.)
- At this time the record companies’ standard practice is to request a fifty percent (50%) royalty of the retail price on each Master Realtone sold, with the stipulation that the record company will pay all publisher royalties and indemnify you for said payments. It is your responsibility to make the master use royalty payments directly to the record company(s).
- In the event that a given record company does not choose to be responsible for payments to the publisher(s), this will require contacting the publishers directly and paying the statutory Mechanical License fee directly to them on a monthly basis.
- MBIG Music Library Master Realtones (aka Truetones, Mastertones) – These are actual full recordings of songs usually provided in MP3 form. For this purpose, a list of musical genres can be found on our home page (ie: jazz, blues, classical, old-time radio & TV, comedy, etc). When you click on a genre an index of corresponding titles will appear. Click on any title you wish to order and we will arrange a Realtone master license for your signature from the music provider. In most cases, the license will be at a fixed royalty of $.25 (twenty five cents) per retail sale, depending upon proposed usage and territories. We charge a flat consultation fee of $5.00 for each such title, however, if after hearing your selected recording, you are not satisfied and chose not to license the recording, our consultation fee will be refunded. FURTHERMORE… The music publisher(s) that own the musical copyright(s) for the song(s) must be contacted, a compulsory license requested, and paid the Mechanical Licensing fee(s) directly on a monthly basis. Again, it will be your responsibility to make all royalty payments directly to said licensors.
MBIG shall not be deemed to be an employee, agent, partner or legal representative of your company and MBIG shall not have any right, power or authority to create any obligation or responsibility on behalf of your company. Furthermore, in all instances, MBIG will make its best efforts to assure that the information provided is accurate and complete, but cannot guarantee such accuracy nor be financially responsible for any claims arising out of the information or licenses provided.
